Our Second Saturday ministry provides an opportunity for people to be a part of something bigger than themselves. We are a church that truly cares about people especially those in need. We don't want to just sit back and talk about making a difference. We make it a priority to volunteer our time and energy on a monthly basis to share Christ's love for those around us.  Whether that involves doing yard work in the rain, picking up trash in our community, or building a home, our desire is to love others as Christ loves us.

For more information on how you can get involved, please contact Lincoln Milam: Lincoln@voxchurch.tv

PAST EVENTS:

 November AND December

VOX gives back

WOW, What an amazing vessel for the Kingdom God is using VOX for. When presented with a challenge, VOX never falters. We were able to bless over 60 kids, directly in our community, with gifts for Christmas, which they otherwise would not have. We were actually unable to keep ornaments on the tree. Bravo VOX...well done. I am so proud to be part of a church that truly functions as God leads us!

On behalf of all the children in our community who were blessed by you...Thank You!!

 UPCOMING EVENTS:

Saturday, January 14th

HOPE Center Macomb / Gleaners Food Bank Food Drive: Kroger Location TBD

The Hope center is a nearly completely volunteer based non-profit Christian service agency. Their main ministry is the "no-cost client choice" food pantry that is set up in a grocery store format. They distribute food based upon the number of members in the household. And they need help stocking those shelves.

We will be helping with their already organized food drive in partnership with Kroger grocery stores. There will be two shifts available (9:30am-1pm  or  1pm-6:00pm), but will be focusing on the 9:30am-1:00pm shift. We will be standing in the Kroger store foyer with shopping carts taking donations of food to stock the shelves with so please dress accordingly.

I will be contacting those whose sign up with Kroger store locations by phone call or email once they are assigned.

Hundreds of Macomb County residents count on this pantry to feed their families...lets make sure they have food in it to choose from!

Abigayle Ministries 12313 19 MILE RD STERLING HEIGHTS, MI 48313

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Abigayle Ministries is a Christian interdenominational non-profit organization in Southeast Michigan. The ministry assists adult pregnant women and their children by introducing them to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and equipping them to be self-sufficient through its residential program and community resource center.

Their vision is to provide a two-year residential program for the single mother with child, whereby she can obtain mentoring and educational support for healthy child development and parent-child relationships while becoming self-supporting. They aspire to be a catalyst in promoting relationships based upon the love of Christ.

To make the residential program more comfortable, they are asking for assistance in updating the living areas such as the bedrooms, bathrooms and laundry room.

The repairs are minor..

We are calling out all you DIY’ers!! For only one Saturday afternoon!

Hope Center: Macomb (Grosbeck just north of 14 mile in Roseville)

This 30,000 sq. ft. facility is a sort of HUB for service agencies in Macomb County that teach and give skills to those who have found themselves greatly impacted by our terrible economic times we live in today. Services include:

  • Referrals to other non-profit community service agencies (on-site and off-site)
  • Referrals to county service agencies
  • Assistance in filling out paperwork/applications, and/or scheduling appointments with other agencies
  • Chaplain services on site
  • Referrals for housing services
  • V.I.T.A. - A free service helping residents prepare their taxes
  • Counseling services

Their main ministry is the "no-cost client choice" food pantry that is set up in a grocery store format. They distribute food based upon the number of members in the household. This is where we will be helping.

They can only accommodate 9 volunteers at a time, so we will be doing this in two shifts. The grocery store is open from 9am to 3pm. Our first shift of 9 volunteers will be from 9am to noon, and the second wave will be from noon to 3pm. Duties will include:

  • Stocking shelves
